We all know a Lamborghini is a special car, but what if we told you there are 10 models that go beyond the extremes of production howlers.
Lamborghini CEO Alessandro Farmeschi said: “These cars give us the opportunity again as a brand to offer our customers something special.
Specifically, there were around 14 specials, limited runs and one-offs of the Lamborghini that exceeded the various factory extremes by more than a few degrees. These Lambos are so much more than just a pretty car, there are many aspects under the hood that make this car stand out from the rest.
Hurricane STO
The Huracan STO, also known as the “road-legal super sports car”, is Lamborghini’s newest special edition. The CEO even mentions that this car is “even more unique”. This incredible sports car was inspired by the Huracan Super Trofeo EVOs which were included in Lamborghini Sqadra Corse’s one-make racing series. STO stands for “Super Trofeo Omologato”, meaning it is a special homologation version of the racing car.
After transforming the tram into a race car-inspired version, the car achieved 37% better overall aerodynamic efficiency and 53% more downforce than the Huracan Perormante. Other changes include: a lighter windshield, magnesium wheels and increased use of carbon fiber, which drops 95 pounds. With three new modes increasing its performance and Brembo CCM-R brakes that shorten the brake stop. Additionally, the Lamborghini has carbon filter seats, door panels and floor mats.
This special Lamborghini addition starts at around $327,838.
SC20 Roadster
The SC20, or the Squadra Corso 2020, was introduced about 4 months ago. This car was not designed for anything other than the race track. It was never limited by crash-test standards or homologation requirements. The design was inspired by the Aventador V12 which is an open-top track car with no windshield.
This amazing SC20 Roadster has a 6.5-liter V12 that is tuned to 759bhp and then routed to a 7-speed gearbox that leads to all four wheels.
The inspiration behind this sports car resulted in a “spectacular combination of creativity and racing attitude”.
Sian FKP 37
The Sian FKP 37 incorporates an innovative hybrid transmission and is the very first Lamborghini hybrid. This car uses a supercapacitor, which releases and stores energy faster than a typical car battery.
With the combination of a 785 hp V12 from the Aventador and an additional 34 hp from a 48-volt engine, this Lamborghini creates a total of 819 hp. The Sian has the highest total power ever seen by a Lambo. What makes this sports car the fastest Lamborghini, going from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 2.8 seconds.
“With this car, we challenged ourselves to create the best hybrid solution for a Lamborghini super sports car to provide us with the first step in our electrification strategy.”
Lamborghini challenges the system with new technologies that will endlessly provide improved solutions in the automotive industry.
Sian Roadster
The Sian Roadster is essentially the convertible version of the Sian FKP 37. It has the same 819 horsepower hybrid V12, allowing it to go from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 2.9 seconds. Just a tenth slower than the FKP 37.
Sian’s supercapacitor is three times lighter than a battery of equal power and three times more powerful than a battery of the same weight.
The word “Sian” in the Bolognese dialect of Sant’ Agata means “lightning” or “lightning”. What is suitable for this car according to its specifications, mentioned above. Also being named the fastest Lamborghini just reiterates that this car can fly on the road.
Gallardo LP 550-2
This special Lamborghini edition was designed for the legendary Lamborghini test driver, Valentino Balboni. After more than 40 years of service, the company has shown its appreciation with the Gallardo LP 550-2.
The difference with this Lambo is that it is the only rear-wheel-drive special edition. To prevent the transmission from blowing up, engineers had to recalibrate the transmission and detune it from 560 mph to 550 mph.
Balboni preferred RWD as opposed to AWD due to its lively and more engaging nature.
Centenario Coupe and Roadster
Created to celebrate 100 years of Ferriccio Lamborghinie anniversary, Lamborghini released a limited edition based on the Aventador.
In 2016, the coupe debuted in Geneva and was followed by the Quail in California with a roadster version.
Both Lamborghinis paid homage to Ferriccio Lamborghini with a 759hp version of the Aventador’s V12. Moreover, the most powerful Lamborghini ever made did the 0-62 mph in 2.8 seconds, 186 in 23.5, reaching a top speed of 217 mph.
Most would say it was a great tribute to the man who started this company from the ground up.
Reventon Coupe and Roadster
More than a decade ago, the Reventon coupe debuted at the Frankfurt auto show, sporting a balanced 650-hp V12, angular styling inspired by the F-22 Raptor fighter jet and a price tag of $1.365 million.
Two years later, they reinvented the Reventon roadster, making it roofless and with 661 hp, hitting 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds and priced at $1.6 million.
What sets these two cars apart is the fact that the design came straight from the Centro Stile designers’ sketchbook, into CAD, and then straight into production.
Sesto Elemento
The Sesto Elemento comes from the Italian name for the sixth element. The sixth element is Carbon. This limited edition Lamborghini was designed with carbon fiber, which is everything about this car besides the drivetrain.
In 2010, when this car debuted, CEO Stephan Winkelmann said the concept was to improve the start of greater use of lightweight materials in the company’s cars. The Sesto Elemento weighed around 2,200 pounds.
With only 20 made, the price was set at $2.2 million.
Veneno and Veneno Roadster
This limited edition Lamborghini was designed to celebrate 50e Lamborghini’s anniversary as a company. The Veneno and Veneno Roadster showcased a cool concept turned very limited production super car.
Inspired by the Aventador with V12 AWD engine, the Veneno exceeds 739 hp and reaches 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds. It also has a top speed of 221 mph.
Each has a $4 million prize. Lamborghini only built three coupes and nine roadsters.
Aventador J
“The Aventador J is an extremely powerful and extremely open force of nature on wheels.” It is a roofless and windshield-less version that has a 691 hp version of the Aventador.
With a top speed of 186 mph, it is suggested to wear a helmet and lower the visor.
The Aventador had no production future and was unique. However, instead of throwing the design away, they created an “absolute one-of-a-kind piece: a one-of-a-kind work of art.”
In conclusion, Lamborghinis outperform the majority of cars on the market. If you have any questions about Lamborghini]we are here to help you in any way we can.
