The ministry of transport has ordered Prasarana to boost safety measures in place in any respect light rail transit (LRT) stations, including the installation of passenger safety doors, reported Latest Straits Times.
That is to forestall a reoccurrence of incidents similar to the one involving a Taiwan national who died after falling on to the LRT track on the Pusat Bandar Puchong LRT station yesterday, said transport minister Anthony Loke.
“By way of safety measures, I actually have asked Prasarana to plan to put in passenger safety doors in any respect LRT and MRT stations. Because of this, for brand new MRT stations, there are safety doors, we’ve got one [automated] door before the train arrives,” Loke said.

Meanwhile, investigations into the death of the Taiwanese national are underway, Serdang police chief assistant commissioner Muhamad Farid Ahmad said.
