Proton has announced that it’s expanding the operational capability of its recent electric vehicle (EV) assembly plant in Tanjung Malim. The national automaker said the expansion plan, for which an investment of RM37 million has been allocated, comes nine months after the power began operations and follows on the strong market demand for its eMas models. Launched last September, the RM82 million EV factory, which sits on a 5.57-acre site inside Proton’s complex in Tg Malim, has a primary phase capability of 20,000 units each year, however the planned expansion will take the power’s annual production capability to 42,000 units.…

Transport minister Anthony Loke has instructed the land public transport agency (APAD) to take maximum punitive motion against Prasarana Malaysia following the derailment of a LRT train on the Ampang-Sri Petaling Line earlier today.
