An extra two Electric Train Service (ETS) sets are expected to reach in Malaysia in April, and be operational by August this yr after completing the crucial trials, Bernama has reported.
“Two trains from China with eight sets being put together in Batu Gajah, Perak will complete the southern route of the road, following the beginning of the ETS service at Segamat station in Johor on March 15,” transport minister Anthony Loke said.
We don’t need to wait for all 10 sets to begin operating, [and] we’ll use whichever set that’s accomplished. For Gemas to Johor Baru there will probably be three phases – Phase 1 till Segamat, Phase 2 till Kluang, Phase 3 till JB Sentral,” Loke said, adding that the ETS will offer business class travel to supply a more premium service to passengers.
