Renault is expanding its compact SUV lineup with the introduction in September of the “entry-level” Symbioz which contains a full-hybrid drivetrain.
Built on an prolonged version of the Renault-Nissan CMF-B architecture, the drivetrain is predicated on a 1.6-litre inline 4-cylinder engine, topping the 1.2-litre capability of the hybrid unit present in its sister SUV, the Austral.
Launched to capture buyers within the compact SUV segment, with families in search of spaciousness and utility particularly targeted families, the Symbioz is the French carmaker’s fourth model on this lucrative segment, joining the Arkana, the recently launched Scenic EV, and the Austral which similarly come equipped with Renault’s E-Tech full-hybrid drivetrains.
