Following reports of a hearth that occurred at a Proton body and paint dealership facility in Sungai Buloh, the carmaker has issued an official statement.
“At roughly 5pm on Wednesday, 7 January 2026, a fireplace broke out at Proton Salient Progress (B&P), positioned at Lot 906 & 907, Kampung Baru Sungai Buloh, 40160 Shah Alam, Selangor. The Fire & Rescue Department (Bomba) was contacted immediately and successfully brought the blaze under control by 8:00pm.
“The cause and extent of harm resulting from the incident are currently under investigation. At this point, there isn’t any indication that the incident was attributable to any product-related issue. Importantly, no injuries or lack of life were reported,” the statement read.
“The incident is currently under investigation by the relevant authorities, with the dealer working closely with them throughout the method. Proton will support the dealer in addressing customer-related matters, and affected customers will probably be contacted immediately.
“The Salient Progress Kepong 4S showroom, positioned at No. 246, Batu 6 1/2, Jln Besar Kepong, 52000 Kuala Lumpur is unaffected and continues normal day by day operations,” concluded the statement.
