Ineos Automotive is planning to restart production of its Grenadier and Quartermaster models in early January, following a halt in September attributable to a critical component shortage.
The corporate confirmed that every one partners are prepared to support the resumption of operations at its manufacturing facility in Hambach, France, which produces vehicles for delivery.
Lynn Calder, CEO of Ineos, said: “It’s great news that an answer has been found so quickly. Automotive supply chains are extremely complex, but we weren’t willing to compromise on quality, so we’re satisfied that we have now found the most effective possible end result.”
Despite the setback, Ineos said it has enjoyed strong sales performance in 2024.
“By this summer, we had sold as many Grenadiers as we had for the entire of 2023, and are heading in the right direction to have over 20,000 Grenadiers on the road before the top of this yr,” said Calder.
“We now turn our attention to preparing Hambach to restart in early January, and with significant growth in major recent markets – including China and Mexico – and substantial expansion within the US, I imagine 2025 goes to be our greatest yr yet.”
“I’d like to offer an enormous because of our customers for his or her patience. We’re completely satisfied to get back heading in the right direction and sit up for handing them the keys to their Grenadiers as soon as possible.”
Within the UK the Ineos retailer network of greater than 20 showrooms includes AM100 dealer groups corresponding to Cambria Automobiles, CEM Day, Jardine Motors, Halliwell Jones.
Following the top of the farmer-friendly Land Rover Defender off-roader in 2016, which led to Land Rover launching a more premium-positioned recent Defender, Ineos founder Sir Jim Ratcliffe saw a spot available in the market for a hard-working 4×4 with best-in-class off-road capability, and Ineos began production of the Grenadier in autumn 2022.
Since launch, the Grenadier has been joined by the Quartermaster, a double-cab pick-up variant.
