Penang folks, the Karnival Mega JPJ Madani 2026 event can be happening this weekend (April 24-26) at Stadium Negeri Pulau Pinang, Batu Kawan, at the side of the road transport department’s eightieth anniversary. They’ve some goodies for attendees, especially motorcyclists.
First up, there’s a free engine oil change for two-wheelers, limited to a litre of ‘minyak hitam’ for every bike. There can be 500 free oil changes per day, over the event’s three days. Typically, that is for Malaysian residents only and the MyKad holder must be owner of the motorcycle. It’s for bikes with engines of 250cc and below.
There’s also free helmet exchange programme for motorcyclists, with 5,000 units allocated for the three-day programme. All one must do is bring an old, broken or non-Sirim spec helmet to be exchanged for a brand new one. That is for Malaysian residents aged 16 and above (bring your MyKad for verification), limited to at least one unit per person.
Children aged from five to nine are entitled to free helmets. Identification is required, after all, and every family is proscribed to at least one free helmet from this programme. JPJ can be giving out 1,000 free child helmets over the three days.
On the event, JPJ can also be having a special sale of as much as 50,000 leftover number plates from the favored category. Prices are set at RM250 for ‘popular’ numbers and RM500 for ‘attractive’ numbers – that’s half of the same old sale prices. Details here.
