The road transport department (JPJ) has issued a press release for recalls involving greater than 41,000 vehicles across five passenger automotive brands in Malaysia, comprised of Honda (previously announced by Honda Malaysia in November 2024), Kia, Ford, Audi and Mercedes-Benz. The tally involves 41,688 vehicles to be exact, though this figure includes 291 units of MAN trucks for 4 variants of the 2021-2023 TGS prime mover, which is being recalled for a malfunctioning 24-volt socket inside the instrument panel. Alfa Romeo is the newest manufacturer to backtrack on its goal of becoming an EV-only carmaker, a goal that the Italian brand had previously set out to realize by 2027, reported Automotive News. BYD has unveiled the Han L sedan and the Tang L SUV, and the brand new electric models feature the brand’s latest design language and electric motors. For exterior dimensions, the Han L sedan measures 5,050 mm long, 1,960 mm wide and 1,505 mm tall with a wheelbase of two,970 mm, making it 10 mm longer, 50 mm wider and 10 mm taller than the BYD Han. BMW will likely be showcasing its Panoramic iDrive on the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025 that returns to Las Vegas next 12 months, which is the manufacturer’s display and operation concept for production versions of the Neue Klasse concept vehicles, first shown because the Vision Neue Klasse in September 2023. The Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation (MGTC) has commenced its electric motorcycle battery swapping systems project. Starting tomorrow, December 10, 2024, the EV bike demonstration runs for a duration of two months, until February 9, 2025. The most recent addition, Kumride is a ride-hailing service within the more conventional sense. WCE (West Coast Expressway) has announced that toll fare collection for Section 1, which connects the Banting interchange with the South Klang Valley Expressway (SKVE) interchange, will begin September 30, Monday from 12:01 am, the highway operator has announced. Section 1 of the WCE was launched on August 30, and passage along the section is toll free until September 29 (Sunday). Section 1 is the southernmost a part of the highway, spanning 12.5 km from Banting, Selangor to Taiping, Perak along the west coast of the peninsular.
