2026 Ford Ranger price and specs: MY26.5 updates detailed – UPDATE

The Ford Ranger is losing its volume-selling engine but gaining wider availability of its turbo-diesel V6.

The Blue Oval has announced pricing and (limited) specifications for what it’s calling the model yr 2026.5 (MY26.5) Ranger lineup.

Orders for the MY26.5 Ranger opened in December, ahead of customer deliveries scheduled for mid-2026.

While Ford has subsequently announced MY26.5 details for the Ranger Hybrid, because the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version of the ute is now known, it hasn’t released detailed specifications. We’ll update this text when these turn into available, while the Super Duty is roofed individually.

An updated single-turbo 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine – with the identical outputs but now a 10-speed automatic transmission – is the entry point to the range.

With the axing of its bi-turbo counterpart, Ford has made the three.0-litre turbo-diesel V6 more widely available. For the primary time, it might probably be had in base XL trim, bringing the associated fee of entry into the more powerful engine down by almost $10,000.

But there have been some deletions, too. The Sport is dead and the XLS is now available only as a double-cab/chassis with the optional V6.

Luxe Yellow and Equinox Bronze paint have been faraway from the color palette, but recent finishes include Wolftrak-exclusive Traction Green, Platinum-exclusive Acacia Green and Wildtrak-exclusive Ignite Orange.

Ford has also moved to blackened trim and other dark exterior accents on the Ranger XLT, Wildtrak and Platinum, with each of those trim levels also receiving recent wheel designs.

Drivetrains and Efficiency

The two.0-litre turbo-diesel engine is obtainable with either rear-wheel drive or part-time four-wheel drive.

To get a full-time four-wheel drive system that will be used on pavement, it’s essential to step as much as the V6 diesel or the flagship Raptor.

No matter 4WD system, a locking rear differential and hill descent control are standard.

Heavy-duty suspension is standard on all XL, XLS and Black Edition variants, plus the XLT double-cab/chassis.

Colors

Arctic White is the usual exterior color on all Rangers bar the Wolftrak, which comes standard with either Shadow Black, Command Grey or Traction Green exterior finishes. These are the one finishes offered on the Wolftrak.
