The outcomes of the newest research by Automotive Management and BDO into the UK’s biggest franchised dealer groups is here within the 2024 AM100 report.

And the report also looks into the performance of the ten largest used automobile dealers, the ID10, plus the outlook for automobile brands within the UK marketplace.

What an exciting period that is for motor retailers.

Never in living memory have we had so many latest automobile brands attempting to turn out to be established within the UK market, at the exact same time because the incumbents are battling to adapt and maintain market share.

The impact is clearly seen within the AM100 research, with BYD, Omoda, GWM Ora and Genesis now popping up within the AM100’s franchise mix.

The continued network redevelopment by Stellantis is obvious within the franchise data too, as many groups which have had only one or two Stellantis brands previously are actually representing three or 4.

And we’ve noticed small reductions in Ford’s representation because it is reducing its variety of sales points and hopefully preserving or improving profitability for the dealerships that can remain.

Even before we collated the AM100 data, it has been clear that we’ve had the most important takeover activity for the reason that era of Pendragon buying Reg Vardy.

Consolidation means there’s a handful of recent retailer names within the AM100 this time. Take a take a look at the AM100 report back to see who’s latest, and who was bringing in great profits.

Thanks to the motor trade specialists at accountancy firm BDO for his or her collaboration on the AM100 research.

BDO’s Chris Bond, Steve Le Bas and James Evans have been analysing dealer group statutory accounts from 2023 with me, and crunching the numbers to watch the financial output of the AM100.

Where 2023 accounts weren’t available, or consolidation had since occurred, we’ve provided estimates.
