Recent Lineup of Heavy Duty Ram Trucks Offer Performance and Versatility

Fleet operators need a mixture of reliability, capability, and efficiency from their Heavy Duty work trucks. The 2025 Ram 2500 and 3500 models are designed for fleet use — offering a mix of power, safety, and smart connectivity that sets a brand new benchmark available in the market.

Enhanced Powertrain and Capability

Performance is non-negotiable for business fleet owners. Stellantis has made a decisive move by standardizing its strongest diesel engine across its Heavy Duty Ram truck lineup. “We’re now bringing in our strongest variant of the diesel from an output perspective, making it standard across our lineup,” said David Sowers, director of economic operations at Stellantis. “Fleet customers are all the time on the lookout for more capability, especially in terms of towing. With this powertrain upgrade, we’re delivering higher performance, efficiency, and total cost of ownership — that are critical for business operators.”

The 2025 Ram Heavy Duty lineup introduces a brand new 6.7-liter Cummins High-Output Turbo Diesel engine, producing 430 horsepower and a best-in-class 1,075 lb.-ft. of torque. For fleets that prefer a gasoline option, the 6.4-liter HEMI V-8 delivers 405 horsepower and 429 lb.-ft. of torque.

These powertrains, paired with the upgraded 8-speed TorqueFlite HD transmission, eliminate the necessity for multiple axle ratios and optimize towing capabilities, offering as much as 37,090 lbs of towing capability and a payload of seven,590 lbs. The unified axle ratio simplifies operations for drivers, reducing maintenance costs and enhancing performance predictability.

The TorqueFlite HD transmission also facilitates adaptive shifting, enabling Ram trucks to regulate gear speeds dynamically based on load and terrain. “It starts in second gear when it’s unloaded and tow/haul mode isn’t engaged, offering smoother shifting and improved efficiency,” noted Sowers.

Customer-Centric Design

Fleet managers increasingly expect trucks with the identical safety and convenience features present in passenger vehicles. “Increasingly more, fleet customers are demanding the identical level of safety features on their trucks that they get on their passenger vehicles,” Sowers said. “Features like adaptive cruise control and forward collision warning help them avoid accidents, reduce downtime, and lower liability costs — key concerns for any fleet operator.”

Stellantis has responded to fleet owner needs by making advanced safety and driver-assist technologies standard across the Ram work truck lineup. The trucks now include adaptive cruise control, emergency braking, and forward collision warning — mitigating potential accidents and reducing insurance and maintenance costs. The addition of LED headlights also enhances nighttime visibility and driver safety.

Driver usability stays a focus, with an ergonomic column shifter designed for quick, seamless gear changes across each gas and diesel configurations. A 360-degree surround-view camera with trailer reverse guidance simplifies maneuvering for fleet operators who depend on towing. “A safer and more user-friendly truck ultimately results in reduced training time, fewer operational delays, and improved driver satisfaction,” Sowers said.

The 2025 Ram trucks also cater to driver comfort and connectivity with a 12-inch digital cluster and infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. These features align business vehicles with personal cars, enabling operators to make use of their trucks for each work and private applications.

Versatile Fleet Applications

Fleet operators need versatility, whether or not they manage government vehicles, utility company fleets, or worksite trucks. The Ram Heavy Duty lineup offers an array of factory-installed options designed to accommodate specialized fleet applications.

“For our business customers within the marketplace, they’re all the time on the lookout for capability, usability, and efficiency of their platforms,” Sowers said. “The fundamental reason for purchasers to maneuver from a light-duty truck to a Heavy Duty truck is that they’re towing something, and so they’re towing it often. So that they’re on the lookout for usability and safety while towing. We deliver that in spades with this truck.”

The Ram lineup includes configurations starting from standard work trucks to off-road packages just like the Ram Rebel and Power Wagon. These models come equipped with off-road enhancements comparable to locking axles, 35-inch tires, and ultra-low-range transfer cases for tackling rough terrain. A relocated digital rearview mirror improves visibility, while a live-drive PTO system allows the trucks to power external equipment, comparable to snow removal and dump truck operations.

“The Power Wagon is especially noteworthy, featuring front and rear axles, a disconnecting front sway bar, and an optional 12,000-pound winch for ultimate utility in rugged environments,” Sowers explained.

Technological Integration for Fleet Optimization

In today’s data-driven world, telematics and connected vehicle technology have develop into indispensable tools for fleet management. Ram has embraced this shift, offering standard connectivity features across all 2025 models.

“Connected vehicles are essential now for fleet managers,” Sowers said. “Telematics provides the flexibility to trace vehicles, monitor how they’re being operated, and predict required maintenance intervals. By offering these tools as standard, we’re helping fleets optimize usage, improve safety, and lower costs.”

Because of a partnership with Free2Move, a mobility solution provider, Ram trucks can profit from fleet tracking and operational oversight — providing real-time vehicle data and predictive maintenance alerts. Fleet managers can choose from raw data integration for advanced analytics or a user-friendly dashboard that simplifies decision-making.

Real-time data also supports predictive maintenance, enabling fleet operators to proactively address mechanical issues – reducing unplanned downtime and lengthening vehicle lifespans. Predictive maintenance improves operational efficiency and lowers the whole cost of ownership.

A Recent Standard in Heavy Duty Trucks

As competition within the Heavy Duty truck segment intensifies, manufacturers must differentiate through performance, reliability, and technological innovation. Stellantis has positioned itself on the forefront of this transformation with its latest Heavy Duty truck models.

“The mix of powertrain upgrades, advanced safety features, and connectivity tools reflects what the market demands—more capability, reliability, and efficiency,” Sowers said. “Fleet customers want vehicles that not only perform but additionally reduce downtime, lower operational costs, and supply a greater experience for drivers. The Ram Heavy Duty lineup delivers on all fronts.”

By addressing key fleet concerns—power, safety, usability, and technology—Ram’s 2025 Heavy Duty trucks reinforce their popularity because the workhorses of the marketplace, ensuring that fleet operators can meet on a regular basis challenges with confidence.
