Cumbrian AM100 retailer Lloyd Motor Group is expanding its north east operations with the acquisition of three Jaguar Land Rover businesses from Lithia UK.
The acquisition includes Stratstone Jaguar Land Rover Newcastle, Stratstone Land Rover Stockton and Stratstone Land Rover Service Centre, Houghton-le-Spring and can see 165 people join the business.

Customers could be assured they are going to proceed to receive the best levels of care and expertise, delivered with the private approach that defines Lloyd Motor Group.”
The acquisition builds on Lloyd Motor Group’s presence within the north east where it already operates BMW, Mini, Lloyd Select, Ineos and bodyshop facilities in Newcastle and North Tyneside.

The deal follows the October 2024 acquisition of Stratstone Tyneside BMW & Mini from Lithia UK which added to Lloyd Newcastle Bodyshop, Lloyd BMW, Lloyd Mini and Lloyd Newcastle Bodyshop along with Lloyd Select Newcastle, its flagship used automotive operation on Scotswood Road, Newcastle on the previous Cazoo dealership premises which was launched in 2023.
Founded in 1976 with a single BMW retailer in Cumbria, Lloyd Motor Group today employs over 1,600 colleagues across northern England and southern Scotland.
