The Nissan GT-R has long been a logo of pushing an envelope beyond preconceived limits, and its legacy continues with the disclosing of two recent limited-production special editions for the 2024 model yr. Joining the ranks of the GT-R lineup are the T-spec Takumi Edition and Skyline Edition, each paying tribute to the heritage and craftsmanship that outline this iconic performance vehicle.

The GT-R T-spec Takumi Edition stands as a testament to the expert artisans often called takumi who meticulously hand-assemble each GT-R VR38DETT engine. These master craftsmen ensure unparalleled precision and performance, and their dedication is commemorated with a red-etched engine badge and a gold VIN plate proudly displayed within the engine bay. The distinctive red badge signifies the elevated level of workmanship and a spotlight to detail applied during assembly, making these engines highly coveted amongst enthusiasts.

Distinguishing itself from other GT-R variants, the Takumi Edition boasts a striking Midnight Purple paint job paying homage to among the most iconic special editions within the Skyline/GT-R lineage. Complementing the outside is an exclusive Mori Green interior trim, adding a touch of luxury and class to the cockpit. Alongside these aesthetic enhancements, the Takumi Edition receives a bunch of mechanical upgrades including GT-R NISMO carbon-ceramic brakes, gold-painted NISMO RAYS® 20-inch forged wheels, NISMO-tuned Vehicle Dynamic Control, and wider front fenders, promising an exhilarating driving experience for enthusiasts.

Alternatively, the GT-R Skyline Edition brings a bit of Japanese automotive history to the U.S., paying homage to the enduring skyline vistas of Japan. Adorned in Bayside Blue paint, a color synonymous with the GT-R heritage, and featuring a surprising Sora Blue interior, this edition captures the essence of Japan’s breathtaking landscapes. Reviving the enduring Bayside Blue color after its retirement, this edition celebrates the timeless appeal of the GT-R throughout the years.

As details and pricing for these exclusive editions are yet to be announced, we’re excited for his or her arrival at select U.S. Nissan dealerships in the summertime as we catch up with to the very end of the run of the Nissan GT-R. That’s right, the Nissan GT-R will come to an end in its current iteration following the 2025 model yr, which can mark over 17 years for the GT-R generation. With each models set to be available in very limited numbers, they’re poised to develop into prized possessions amongst enthusiasts and collectors alike, marking one more chapter within the storied history of the Nissan GT-R before production ends.
