The road transport department (JPJ) has issued a press release for recalls involving greater than 41,000 vehicles across five passenger automotive brands in Malaysia, comprised of Honda (previously announced by Honda Malaysia in November 2024), Kia, Ford, Audi and Mercedes-Benz.

This JPJ recall for the above Honda models are for abnormal sounds and roughness when turning the steering wheel, based on the department’s statement. Earlier, Honda Malaysia’s November 2024 statement elaborated on the matter, stating that the problem involves the EPS gearbox where its worm wheel may swell and reduce grease film thickness, causing abnormal steering noise or a sticky steering.
