After nearly a decade in the marketplace, Lexus is bidding farewell to its “Radical Coupe.” Production of the Lexus RC will officially end in November 2025, but not before the automaker sends off its iconic sports coupe in style with a special Final Edition. Unveiled in Japan, this swan song edition celebrates the legacy of the RC lineup, from the entry-level RC300 to the high-performance RC F. For U.S. enthusiasts, Lexus has confirmed that the RC F Final Edition will hit American shores with a starting price of $94,000, including destination charges.

Let’s take a better take a look at what makes this farewell edition so special and why it holds a major place in Lexus’ history.

The Final Edition is a A Stylish Goodbye

The Final Edition treatment graces each the usual RC models and the adrenaline-pumping RC F. On the bottom RC300, RC300h, and RC350, the changes are subtle yet sophisticated. These models ride on 19-inch Enkei alloy wheels paired with vibrant red brake calipers. A striking recent Sonic Iridium paint option is introduced, complementing a palette of eight other exterior colours. The sleek black power-folding side mirrors and subtle carbon fiber accents add a contemporary touch, while inside, the cabin contains a Black & Flare Red theme highlighted by suede elements for a premium finish.

The RC F Final Edition, however, amps up the thrill. Its naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 engine stays untouched, delivering 475 horsepower and 395 lb-ft of torque through an eight-speed automatic transmission to the rear wheels. This version stands out with a singular engine cover badge, lightweight 19-inch BBS forged wheels, and a number of carbon fiber enhancements, including a front spoiler, rear diffuser, roof, and retractable wing. Like the usual RC models, the RC F also gets the brand new Sonic Iridium paint, ensuring that it leaves an enduring visual impression.

Performance That Stands the Test of Time

Lexus has all the time championed the RC F’s naturally aspirated 2UR-GSE V8 engine, and for good reason. At a time when many automakers are moving to downsized turbocharged or hybrid powertrains, the RC F’s V8 stands as a reminder of what made performance cars of the 2010s so thrilling. While Lexus Japan hints at “highly precise tuning” for the Final Edition, the engine’s output stays unchanged. This isn’t a foul thing, because the RC F has all the time been a powerhouse, delivering linear acceleration, a symphony of V8 exhaust notes, and track-ready handling.

The limited-edition RC F might be capped at just 200 units in Japan, making it a real collector’s item. Pricing for the RC F Final Edition starts at 13,600,000 yen (around $87,169), solidifying its place as a premium offering within the lineup.

A Decade of Memories

Since its debut in 2014, the Lexus RC has been a standout in the luxurious coupe segment. Combining striking design with Lexus’ status for reliability, the RC sold roughly 79,000 units globally. Meanwhile, the performance-focused RC F, with its aggressive demeanor and track-inspired engineering, accounted for 12,000 units.

The RC’s departure marks the top of an era for Lexus, however it also signals the start of something recent. While a direct successor to the RC isn’t planned, Lexus is reportedly working on a brand new coupe, rumored to hold the LFR badge. Expected to debut later this yr, the LFR is claimed to feature a brawny V8 and should even replace the flagship LC coupe.

The Lexus RC Final Edition isn’t only a farewell—it’s a celebration of a model that has brought style, performance, and luxury to a generation of drivers. For fans of the RC F, the Final Edition is a chance to own a bit of automotive history, as naturally aspirated V8 coupes develop into increasingly rare in today’s electrified landscape.

Because the sun sets on the Lexus RC, enthusiasts can take solace within the promise of what’s to return. If the LFR rumors hold true, Lexus is poised to proceed its legacy of constructing coupes that balance luxury and performance, while staying true to its status for precision and craftsmanship. Until then, the RC Final Edition ensures this chapter ends on a high note—proving that the “Radical Coupe” was all the time greater than just a reputation.
