If you happen to occur to search out yourself on the streets of San Francisco, dear Jalops, keep an eye fixed out. There’s an interesting automobile that’s been left on considered one of the town’s streets, and we wish you to search out it. First sent to us via EVUniverse.com and originally posted on Reddit, someone spotted a seemingly abandoned original Tesla Roadster on some random street in SF.
Except for the nice-looking townhouse or condos within the background, it looks like something straight out of a post-apocalyptic movie: weather-beaten and dirty paint, weeds growing throughout and under the automobile, foggy headlights and scratched-up body work. Various comments on Reddit gave a bit of data concerning the Roadster. Apparently, the automobile sits on the intersection of the streets Mission and College Terrace, that are private streets so San Francisco parking enforcement can’t tow it. It’s also been sitting for some time, because it was allegedly moved once in 2019 but hasn’t budged since.
This Roadster’s unique combo of Twilight Blue paint and Premium Cream & Beige Rally interior did make it a bit easier to dig up more details, like Reddit user DeedWest did.
That’s VIN 180. It’s the one Twilight Blue with factory Premium Cream & Beige Rally interior so it wasn’t terribly difficult to narrow down. The last known owner has posted previously on our Roadster TMC forum, so I messaged him to see if he still owns the automobile & can provide any context.
Even with that info, we’re tasking you fellow Jalopnik readers with checking out more info on this automobile and even getting in contact with the owner, especially in the event you live within the San Francisco area. Why was it left abandoned? Did the owner get uninterested in Elon’s bullshit? Does that person even still own it? We’ve got all these questions and more as to why someone would abandon an excellent rare, six-figure electric sports automobile on the streets of considered one of the biggest cities within the country.
You may email us along with your findings at suggestions@jalopnik.com. If you happen to’re the primary reader to come back across this Roadster, we’ll even send you a hat.
