The ASEAN NCAP (Recent Automotive Assessment Program for Southeast Asian Countries) has released the total assessment report for the 2026 Proton Saga MC3 that was launched earlier today, reiterating that the most recent model from the national carmaker has achieved a four-star rating under the outgoing 2021-2025 protocol, following the sooner announcement that was made in October.
With the Standard because the variant tested here, the newly-launched sedan model achieved 23.72 out of a possible 32.00 points within the adult occupant protection (AOP) assessment, 38.17 from a possible 51.00 points within the child occupant protection (COP) assessment, 14.00 from a possible 21.00 points in the security assist assessment, and seven.00 from a possible 16.00 points within the motorcyclist safety (MS) assessment.
Within the adult occupant protection (AOP) assessment, the front occupant compartment of the Saga was deemed to have remained stable within the frontal offset impact test, nonetheless of note was the marginal protection observed for the driving force’s chest, for which marginal protection was also observed within the side impact test.
Safety assistance systems within the Proton Saga MC3 included autonomous emergency braking (AEB), forward collision warning, lane departure warning and blind spot detection, together with two airbags, ESC, ABS, seatbelt reminders for each front occupants, and ISOFIX child seat mounts.
Within the motorcyclist safety assessment, the 2026 Saga MC3 obtained a bonus point for offering advanced motorcyclist safety technology through the AEB for motorcycle functionality as optional equipment.
Across the AOP, COP, safety assist and motorcyclist safety assessment categories, the Saga MC3 achieved a maximum star rating of 4 stars for every respective category, thus with a weighted rating of 66.70 points, it arrives at the general ASEAN NCAP rating of 4 stars.
