Having built cars since 2018, Xpeng has released its first second-generation model, the brand new P7. Set to switch its flagship P7i, this electric sedan looks much more futuristic than its predecessor, with shades of the Polestar 5 in its design.
That much is clear within the fastback-like roofline that stretches all of the solution to the back, the rakish kinked C-pillars, the T-shaped front light signature (here stretching across the complete width of the automotive) and even the shrink-wrapped door mirrors that likely adjust in the identical way by moving the complete housing. Even the four-Y-spoke wheels seem like a nod to its Swedish-Chinese rival.
Still, there are many design cues which can be unique to the Xpeng. For one, the P7 looks to truly have a rear windscreen, somewhat than simply counting on a digital rear-view mirror within the case of the Polestar 5. Despite this, you continue to get an expansive panoramic glass roof.
Elsewhere, the headlights are set inside gloss black housings that stretch all of the solution to the bottom of the A-pillars – something that’s mirrored within the taillight graphic. There’s also a wraparound front windscreen design and substantial rear haunches that give the automotive some added visual muscle.
Xpeng has not released any photos of the inside, nor any technical specifications. Nonetheless, we will expect significant improvements when it comes to performance and range, enabling the automotive to higher compete against newer models reminiscent of the Xiaomi SU7. With the brand now being offered in Malaysia, might we expect to see this automotive here sooner somewhat than later?
