Infiniti has made a daring move by replacing the V6 engine within the QX60 with a more compact yet potent 2.0-liter VC Turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. Typically, auto manufacturers reserve such powertrain changes for a model refresh or redesign, but Infiniti has decided not to attend. The present-generation QX60, which debuted in 2022, retains its familiar exterior and interior styling for the 2025 model 12 months. Nonetheless, the changes under the hood are quite significant.

The previous 3.5-liter V-6 engine has been swapped out for the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine present in the QX50 and QX55. This Variable Compression Turbo engine generates 268 horsepower, a slight decrease from the 295 horsepower produced by the outgoing V-6. Despite the drop in horsepower, Infiniti emphasizes the improved torque, which now stands at 286 pound-feet, a rise of 16 pound-feet over the previous model. The ability continues to be delivered through a nine-speed automatic transmission, available in each front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations.

While the brand new engine produces barely less power, it offers higher fuel efficiency. The front-wheel-drive QX60 is EPA-rated at 22 mpg in town, 28 mpg on the highway, and 24 mpg combined. The all-wheel-drive version is sort of as efficient, with a highway rating of 27 mpg.

Along with the engine upgrade, Infiniti introduces a brand new Black Edition Package for the 2025 QX60. Because the name suggests, this package includes various black trim elements, equivalent to wheels, badges, and grilles, giving the SUV a sleek and modern look. One other recent feature across all QX60 trims is a sophisticated key fob that routinely unlocks the vehicle when the motive force approaches and locks it once they walk away. Moreover, the mid-level Luxe trim now comes standard with a premium Bose 17-speaker stereo system.

Pricing for the 2025 Infiniti QX60 sees a slight increase. The bottom Pure model starts at $51,550, which is $550 greater than the previous 12 months. The highest-of-the-line QX60 Autograph, now only available with all-wheel drive, is priced at $67,500, a modest $50 increase from the 2024 AWD model.

Infiniti’s decision to update the QX60’s powertrain and add recent features while maintaining competitive pricing demonstrates their commitment to enhancing the driving experience and staying ahead within the competitive SUV market.
