The Mazda CX-30 has been updated for the 2024 model 12 months, with a brand new trim level introduced, certain variants axed, and costs bumped by as much as $1680.

The entry-level G20 Pure’s manual transmission option has been dropped from the range, meaning the entry asking price has climbed by $2380. This also means all the CX-30 range is automatic-only.

The range now opens at $32,990 before on-roads for the G20 Pure with the six-speed auto, and extends to $47,390 before on-roads for the G25 Astina AWD.

The brand new CX-30 GT SP might be available in G25 FWD and AWD variants, and appears to switch the outgoing Touring SP variants. Headline features include black 18-inch alloy wheels, a black front grille, and gloss black mirror caps.

  • Overseas models shown throughout

Inside, heated front seats and a heated steering wheel are standard on the GT SP, as is Burgundy leather upholstery, a tilt/slide power sunroof, wireless phone charging, in addition to a brand new 10.25-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

This larger infotainment display will be optioned as a part of the Vision Technology pack on the remaining of the CX-30 range.

Speaking of, the Vision Technology package is obtainable across the range, with inclusions various depending on the grade.

On Pure and Evolve grades it adds the aforementioned 10.25-inch Mazda Connect system, together with front parking sensors, a 360-degree camera system, driver monitoring, front cross-traffic alert in addition to Mazda’s Cruising & Traffic Support highway and traffic jam assistant.

  • 2024 Mazda CX-30 price and specs

Touring and GT SP versions can be found with the identical package, but already feature front parking sensors as standard. The CX-30 Astina gets the total Vision Technology Pack as standard equipment.

Just like the related Mazda 3 hatchback and sedan, the CX-30 contains a revised powertrain for lower grades, while the G20e and X20 M Hybrid models have been axed in Australia.

G20 versions get a revised 114kW/200Nm 2.0-litre Skyactiv-G petrol engine which quotes combined fuel efficiency of 6.3L/100km and emissions of 147g/km – an improvement on each the outgoing G20 and G20e M Hybrid variants.

While Mazda hasn’t detailed how that is achieved in its Australian media release, the Mazda 3 with the identical engine receives cylinder deactivation and “other improvements to the combustion process”, claimed to lower CO2 emissions with none compromise to performance or drivability.

  • 2024 Mazda CX-30 price and specs

G25 models are powered by a carryover 139kW/252Nm 2.5-litre Skyactiv-G petrol engine with each FWD and AWD options. All models are paired with a six-speed automatic transmission as standard – meaning no more manuals, though only the bottom Pure was offered with a manual shifter locally.

Consistent with recent changes throughout the Mazda range, all versions of the CX-30 now see their service intervals extend to 12 months or 15,000 kilometres (previously 10,000km).

Sonic Silver has been faraway from the paint palette, with Ceramic Metallic and Zircon Sand Metallic joining the roster. Black leather is now the one option for Astina models, with the previous White option dropped.
