Pricing for the Volkswagen Amarok 10 Deserts Edition has been announced together with national drive-away pricing across the updated MY25 Volkswagen Amarok dual-cab ute lineup, bringing the price of each variant down.
The entry-level Amarok Core TDI405 Core is now priced at $55,990 drive-away – $1000 greater than its previous list price which didn’t include on-road costs, effectively making it as much as $4000 cheaper than before.
The most important cut, as predicted by CarExpert, has been applied to the one petrol model grade, the Amarok TSI452 Aventura, which now costs $79,990 drive-away (previously $82,990 plus on-roads).

The limited-edition 10 Deserts Edition TDI500 joins the lineup at $69,990 drive-away, positioned between the Amarok Life TDI500 ($61,990 drive-away) and the Style TDI500 ($72,740 drive-away).
The brand new model grade was inspired by the Guiness World Record set by a Volkswagen Amarok – using a modified V6 – after it crossed Australia’s 10 deserts in six days and 17 hours.
“With the ten Deserts Edition, the refinement of the Amarok has been given a tougher edge, offering real off-road ability and benchmark ground clearance, while still being a premium-appointed ute that drivers need to be in,” said Volkswagen Australia industrial vehicles product manager Michael Cenci.
The ten Deserts Edition brings off-road focused upgrades including 17-inch satin black wheels wrapped in Continental ATR (all-terrain) tyres, a 40mm suspension lift and further underbody protection.

The changes bring 275mm of ground clearance – 3mm greater than the Ford Ranger Raptor and a healthy increase from the remainder of the Amarok range’s 235mm.
A black sports bar, soft tonneau cover, floor mats and special decals complete the ten Deserts Edition treatment.
Other changes for the MY25 Amarok lineup include a 230V power socket in the bathtub of Style, PanAmericana and Aventura grades, facilitated by a 400W invertor that allows electrical appliances, laptops and battery packs to be plugged in.
The identical model grades also now include Trailer Assist as standard, which Volkswagen says has been updated to work more seamlessly with the Amarok’s Rear Traffic Alert system.

There aren’t any changes on the skin aside from a brand new Reed Green Metallic paint color, which replaces Mid Blue Metallic on the Amarok color chart.
Cab/chassis Core, Life and Style variants are fitted with a factory alloy tray measuring 1900mm long and 1835mm wide, with a 1650mm internal length, for a further $4000 over their pickup equivalents.
A 243kg steel tray will also be added as a dealer-fit option as a substitute of the alloy tray, which has an official weight of 132kg, and each tubs are covered by Volkswagen Australia’s five-year, unlimited-kilometre recent vehicle warranty.
