Vertu has expanded its fleet operation after joining Mazda’s Fleet Dealer Specialist network ahead of the arrival of two latest electric models.
The AM100 dealer group supplies greater than 45,000 fleet vehicles every year to businesses and organisations across the UK.
Its appointment comes ahead of the UK launch of the Mazda6e this summer, followed by the Mazda CX-6e later within the 12 months.
Each electric cars are expected to supply ranges of greater than 300 miles and rapid charging capabilities, strengthening Mazda’s appeal to fleet customers transitioning to electric vehicles.
Other dealership groups which can be already members of the Fleet Dealer Specialist programme include Arnold Clark Stirling Mazda, Vertu Mazda Redditch, Eden Mazda Taunton and Yeomans Mazda Bexhill, Holdcroft Mazda Stoke, Johnson Mazda Tamworth and RRG Mazda Stockport.
Birmingham to guide fleet sales
Vertu’s fleet centre in Birmingham will manage enquiries for the Mazda range. The operation, which recently added BYD and Geely franchises, will work alongside Vertu Mazda Redditch, where fleet customers will have the option to view Mazda models in person.
Brian Naughton, general manager of Birmingham Fleet, said: “With the brand new Mazda6e arriving to market soon and the CX-6e set to follow later within the 12 months, there’s an actual opportunity for Mazda to grow and expand throughout the fleet sector within the UK.
“With the knowledge and expertise that we have now inside our team, we’re ideally placed to work alongside Mazda to advertise two highly-appealing latest models to fleet buyers, and are delighted to have joined the manufacturer’s fleet network.”
Mazda targets fleet EV growth
Vertu said its appointment reflected the size and experience of its fleet business, as Mazda prepares to expand its electric vehicle presence within the UK.
Robert Forrester, chief executive of Vertu, said: “Being named as a member of the Mazda Fleet Dealer Specialist network reflects the strength of our fleet business. We sit up for working more closely with Mazda and showcasing their upcoming models to the fleet sector.”
Vertu operates 190 sales outlets across the UK and is the country’s fourth-largest dealership group.
