Triangle Kia has opened a brand new aftersales facility in Chesterfield as a part of a £1.5 million investment that may create 11 jobs.
The Duke Street workshop, named The Kia Constructing, will provide MOT testing, servicing and general aftersales support for Kia passenger cars and the manufacturer’s electric PBV van range.
The event increases capability on the family-owned dealership, which has represented Kia since 2008 and was recently appointed as a Kia PBV Centre. Kia UK president and chief executive Paul Philpott officially opened the workshop on July 31.
Workshop supports Kia PBVs
Philpott said: “It’s a pleasure to be here in Chesterfield to officially open Triangle Kia’s impressive latest aftersales facility. David and his team have built a status for doing things the precise way, investing of their business, investing of their people, and all the time putting the client experience first.
“This can be a incredible statement of intent, particularly as Triangle Kia continues to grow with Kia and develop its capability as a Kia PBV Centre. Congratulations to David and everybody at Triangle Kia; we’re pleased with our relationship, and we wish them continued success as we move forward together.”
The Triangle Kia aftersales facility will support the dealership’s existing passenger automotive customers in addition to operators of Kia’s expanding electric business vehicle range.
Triangle Kia said the extra employees could be recruited to support increased workshop throughput.
Further refurbishment planned
An extra investment has also been allocated to refurbish the broader dealership, with work expected to start shortly.
David Dench, managing director at Triangle Kia, said: “Triangle Kia has been a part of Chesterfield for nearly 20 years, and I’m proud that we’ve continued to take a position yr after yr to maintain pace with Kia’s expanding and increasingly exciting model range.
“Just as importantly, it’s an investment in our people and our community. We’re committed to being a powerful local employer, developing skills, creating opportunities, and running a sustainable business that Chesterfield and the encircling area can proceed to depend on for years to come back.”
