There are two versions of the Toyota Hilux GR Sport. Malaysia gets the “mild version” that isn’t as visually aggressive, while over in Australia, the sporty pick-up truck comes with a widebody kit that makes it look loads more menacing.
Nonetheless, the Fortuner GR Sport, which is the SUV sibling to the Hilux, only gets one look with no widebody kit, but what if it did? Well, that’s exactly what Theophilus Chin has dreamt up with these renders of a widebody Fortuner GR Sport. Prefer it?
Drawing inspiration from the widebody Hilux GR Sport, the transformation involves applying a brand new, larger grille that bears the Toyota script, while the bumper is swapped out for a more rugged-looking one with strong creases across the fog lamps and a sturdy skid plate and underguard.
The now-red wider body is achieved though wheel arch extensions, with those on the front connected to the bumper. More outstanding mud guards are also a part of the digital overhaul, and the tip product is furnished with chunkier tyres fitted to off-road-ready wheels.
What do you think that of Theo’s work? Is it more appealing than the present Fortuner GR Sport sold in Thailand? Share your thoughts with us within the comments below.
