You already know I’m a sucker for minitrucks and nostalgia.
So when a thread calling for cars inspired by minitrucks appeared in the Minitruckin, where are they now? Facebook group, I’ve saved a few photos for those of you who aren’t members or have walked away from social media altogether.
Note, when I say minitruck inspiration, I’m talking about wild paint, billets, shaved speakers and of course a slam slam.
all the glorious original Minitruck-style atmosphere.
Tenth generation Thunderbirds were a staple speckled vehicle from my youth
As were Plymouth Sundance/Dodge Shadows modified on Lexanis were quite rare of course..
I also can’t forget the Ford Escort GTs, which I have no problem admitting I loved in the right hands. This Aerostar is mental, peel the bend… back of the body?Amigos were a vehicle that I never saw grow much. Neat little things and this one is great even today
This car is apparently M.IA somewhere in Indiana as you can tell by the truck in the back it fits in nicely
Check out the extended hood over the headlights of this Accord. Unexpected thing, but not bad!One of the best things about “mini truck cars” is the owner’s creative length to get them to the ground

This is a later build, but the influence of the minitruck is still strongThis CRX turbo was separated shortly after a race on the show circuit
This Roadmaster is an icon in the world of minitrucks, and for good reason. Look at all the details buried in the paint! It still exists today, which is impressive. In fact, in general, there are even more vehicles than you think
Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for this car……after becoming quite feral in its own right, it was eventually abandoned
I often wonder how many of today’s cars will be in ten, fifteen, even twenty years? Makes sites like mine super important for archival purposes!
