Unless you’re an Elon Musk fanboy who’s convinced there’s nothing unsuitable with him platforming bigots, spreading white genocide nonsense, making anti-semitic comments and just generally being a terrible person, you almost certainly think the Tesla Cybertruck goes to be a particularly dumb truck. Still, it’s coming. Certainly one of nowadays. Eventually. So not less than the Joe Rogan bros have something to look ahead to. And when it does, it’ll apparently have a bit of trunk in its bed.
InsideEVs found a video posted on Twitter that appears to point out a Cybertruck prototype with a small, likely watertight storage area within the bed area. Emphasis on small. It’s hard to inform exactly how large the in-bed storage area is, but based on the video, it looks prefer it’s just large enough to carry a automotive cover. Which isn’t quite a bit. So if you happen to had visions of filling that puppy with ice and popping a number of cold ones with the boys, you’ll probably be disillusioned.
In-bed storage isn’t exactly latest. Rivian offers one within the R1T, and the Honda Ridgeline has had it for years. It may be quite useful if you happen to don’t want to go away something sitting in your bed and risk some random person walking by and deciding what’s yours is theirs now. It’s just often greater than what we will see here. Nonetheless, it’s also entirely possible that the Cybertruck’s storage area is greater than it appears on this video. If that’s the case, then good job, Tesla, and we take back what we said about it being too small. Your ex-wife, nonetheless, probably isn’t going to take back what she said about it being too small, but that’s a special discussion altogether.
