Thought I used to be gone for the summer, didn’t you? Don’t worry, after I said I used to be back just a few months ago, I meant it.
My schedule of events is way lighter as of late than previously, but I’ve got 5 – 6 events locked in that, barring any unexpected calamity, I won’t be missing. Last weekend I used to be capable of tick off considered one of those events: The Majestics / Luxurious Toronto BBQ.
Over a decade ago I used to be introduced to the Lowrider community via Performance Improvements (RIP) and Switches And Thangs.
On the time, I (quite naively) thought that Lowriding was relatively small in Ontario. Thankfully, I couldn’t have been more flawed.

The community was strong then and has only grown stronger over time.

It’s turn into so noteworthy that noteworthy members of the worldwide lowrider community have began travelling to Toronto to see exactly what we’re about.
This 12 months, for the primary time, Justlowriders TV was on the town, and so they made this awesome video of their experience.
Based on that video and these photos, you most likely wouldn’t have known the 2026 BBQ began with a little bit of a wrinkle.

This 12 months’s event was held in Mississauga, and for whatever reason, Mississauga By-law pulled up almost immediately and asked the group to go away the originally posted venue.
Having to relocate an event after people have already shown up is a logistics nightmare I hope to never should cope with.

Especially when from the skin looking in, the unique venue looked ideal. It was fairly secluded, had ample overflow parking and a backdrop great for photography.

Another municipalities could have looked the opposite way on the gathering, but I’ve run afoul of Mississauga bylaws before, and they have a tendency to not be very lenient once they’ve made up their mind.

They made it clear the group couldn’t stay, but they did offer up an answer that ended up working pretty much. About five minutes up the road, at Dixie Outlet Mall, the Mississauga Classic Automobile Club holds a weekly cruise-in.

That location has a verified permit, and the organizers were nice enough to supply up their space for the day to the event.

As a former Mississauga resident, with the ability to attend a lowrider BBQ and a cruise night fairly near my old stomping grounds was greater than welcome.

Their weekly events have an awesome showing and, at the very least for that week, they were joined by the entire local lowrider clubs and solo riders who pulled as much as the unique venue.

There are a number of lowriders within the Toronto area. But when you don’t find out about gatherings like this chances are high you won’t see greater than a handful in a single place at the identical time.
This implies many enthusiasts simply never have the opprotunity to see one up close. It wouldn’t be fair to say they outright stole the show once everyone arrived, but most individuals did come over and take a more in-depth look.

The thought, care, and detail put into these cars is something any enthusiast can appreciate, no matter what their area of interest of alternative happens to be.

Once the hopping began even the traditionalists had to come back have a look. If a automotive starts hopping twenty feet from where you’ve arrange camp, I don’t care what you drive, you’re going to have a look.

As usual, Ash and I posted up near the front so we didn’t miss any of the motion.
Hearing the reactions of the young (and young at heart) brought back memories of the primary time I took Ash to a lowrider BBQ. Immediately after, lowriders shot to the highest of his favourite automotive list about as quickly as just a few of the cars hit bumper.

There’s absolutely little question in my mind that at the very least considered one of the children watching that day left wanting to know more in regards to the community.

So while the day began with a little bit of a hiccup, and the venue needed to be swapped. Sometimes when life gives you lemons, you only should plate them gold.
More photos below, and the following lowrider BBQ I hope to attend can be the Oldies BBQ on Saturday, August 1st. Follow them on social media for more details.
