Subaru Australia says it has “reasonable” supply of its vehicles, though a few of its vehicles are facing longer waits than others.
The corporate says the Forester Hybrid and Crosstrek Hybrid are facing the longest waits, that are sitting at between 4 and 6 months in the meanwhile.
For the Forester Hybrid, that’s a drop from nine or 10 months last 12 months, and Subaru says it’s working to get more supply.
The Outback XT and BRZ are facing wait times of three or 4 months.
It says other vehicles, depending on variant, are either in stock or will only take a month or so to succeed in customers when ordered.
“The stock situation in comparison with say, last 12 months, has improved and is best. We’re not talking long, long, long lead times, but there may be, on some models, still a lead time at this cut-off date,” Subaru Australia managing director Blair Read told CarExpert.
Subaru’s latest vehicle, the brand new electric Solterra, can be now arriving at dealerships.
“At this stage, we’re roughly three to 4 months out at this stage, depending on spec and people sorts of things, location…” said Mr Read.
“We’ve got what we expect is an affordable looking pipeline for the remainder of the 12 months. There may be opportunity for the potential to extend that if need be.”
Subaru sales were up by 28 per cent in 2023, with 46,114 vehicles delivered – the brand’s best 12 months since 2018, when it shifted 50,015 vehicles in Australia.
Only the XV and Impreza were down, with the previous being replaced by the Crosstrek and the latter winding down ahead of the launch of a brand new generation early this 12 months.
The BRZ was up 35 per cent to turn into Australia’s best-selling sports automotive, while the Forester was up 54 per cent on the back of improved supply and the Outback improved its tally by 32.5 per cent in comparison with 2022.
The WRX range was also up a relatively more modest 14.7 per cent.
