The Ford Everest V6 might be the subsequent police automotive you see in your rear-view mirrors.
Victoria Police has added Everest Sport models to its fleet, with the V6-powered SUVs getting used by each the State Highway Patrol and Drug and Alcohol units.
A spokesperson for Victoria Police told CarExpert a complete of seven Everests are actually in use, with two of those replacing Toyota LandCruisers for towing and off-road duties.
“State Highway Patrol have added two Ford Everest Sport 4×4 V6 vehicles to its fleet, which might be used predominantly by our Solo Unit in an off-road capability and for towing motorcycle trailers, or when conditions should not suitable for police to patrol on motorcycles.”

“Road Policing Drug and Alcohol Section have added five Ford Everest Sport V6 vehicles to its fleet,” the spokesperson explained, with those vehicles wearing matching liveries as its ‘booze buses’ – predominantly supporting roadside alcohol and drug testing stations.
The Everest Sport is powered by a 3.0-litre turbo-diesel V6 engine producing 184kW and 600Nm, with the seven-seater SUV weighing 2455kg and having the flexibility to tow as much as 3500kg.
The addition of the Everest comes after Victoria Police began using the previous-generation Ford Ranger ute – the model on which the Everest relies – as a divisional van back in 2021, replacing the Holden Colorado.
