Lucid Motors has once more proven that electric vehicles aren’t nearly saving fuel or making a silent statement. They’re able to redefining long-distance travel, and the most recent achievement by Lucid’s Air Grand Touring model is a testament to that. This week, the American automaker clinched a brand new Guinness World Record for the longest distance traveled by an EV on a single charge, covering an incredible 1,205 kilometers, or 749 miles, without plugging in once.

The record-breaking drive took place in Europe, starting in St. Moritz, Switzerland and ending in Munich, Germany. Behind the wheel was entrepreneur Umit Sabanci, with your entire journey closely monitored by officials from Guinness World Records to make sure accuracy and fairness. What makes this feat much more remarkable is that the automobile in query was not a prototype or a hyper-specialized version—it was a production-spec Lucid Air Grand Touring.

When you’ve followed Lucid’s rise, this achievement probably won’t surprise you. The corporate has built a status not only for luxury, but for pushing the boundaries of EV technology, especially in relation to efficiency. The Lucid Air lineup has consistently impressed with its aerodynamic design, industry-leading battery management, and in-house powertrain components. These elements work together to offer the Air a big edge in real-world range in comparison with much of the competition.

The Air Grand Touring already holds an EPA-estimated range of 512 miles for the 2025 model, which alone puts it at the highest of the sport. But what Lucid managed during this journey is 237 miles beyond that figure, achieved in actual road conditions across two countries. That type of range would have been unthinkable just a number of years ago, and it puts Lucid in a league of its own in relation to delivering practical long-distance EV travel.

Lucid has long emphasized that it builds its own motors, inverters, and battery packs, all of that are designed for optimum energy efficiency. This philosophy has clearly paid off. Even the Air Pure, Lucid’s most inexpensive model, boasts an energy efficiency rating of 5 miles per kilowatt-hour, setting the benchmark for EVs worldwide.

While there’s no single “best EV” that matches every driver’s needs, Lucid’s performance in efficiency, innovation, and long-range usability makes it a consistent standout. With this latest record under its belt, the Lucid Air not only earns bragging rights, but in addition strengthens the argument that electric vehicles are ready to switch gas-powered cars in even essentially the most demanding travel scenarios.

This latest milestone isn’t only a feather in Lucid’s cap. It’s one other reminder that the longer term of driving doesn’t involve stopping for gas. It could not even involve stopping for a charge—a minimum of not for some time.
