Halliwell Jones and Lloyd Motor Group are investing to make sure North of England motorists have higher access to the specialist 4×4 automobile brand Ineos Automotive.
Lloyd Motor Group is becoming the official Ineos dealer for Newcastle and the North East of England, providing test drives of recent and used Grenadier 4x4s at its existing Lloyd Select showroom in Newcastle, plus opening two sites near Carlisle under a Lloyd AllRoad specialist 4×4 brand.
The primary site is ideally placed to serve the agricultural and farming communities, situated near an agricultural auction site. A second recent retail hub for Carlisle will open to provide customers within the region the expert advice and ongoing support they need.
Halliwell Jones, which already retails Ineos at Chester, will open an authorised repairer at Wilmslow.
Ineos Automotive’s UK and Ireland regional director Tom Johnson said: “While the network evolves and we proceed to introduce recent partners over the approaching months, we’ll support each recent and existing customers by extending the remits of our exisiting sites and adding mobile service support where required.
“It’s great to see our core partners expanding their operations so we will proceed to foster and develop our growing customer community.”
Ineos recently announced it was switching from the agency model to a franchised dealer model, reducing the dimensions of its network to support its partners.
Ineos plans to operate with 10 partners across 12 to 14 sites, though not all of those are in place in the meanwhile. “I’m in lively conversations with and searching for additional partners within the South East,” Johnson told Automotive Management in April.
Ineos had operated as much as 26 sites through 19 partners, including AM100 dealer groups corresponding to Cambria Automobiles, CEM Day, Jardine Motors, and Halliwell Jones, and Johnson said in April that the present “right-sizing” strategy reflects a more refined understanding of market demand.
