Hyundai is not any stranger to daring design leaps, and the fully redesigned 2026 Hyundai Palisade continues that trend. This massive SUV has undergone a striking transformation, embracing a boxier silhouette and a bunch of modern features. As Hyundai’s flagship gas-powered family hauler, the Palisade sets the stage for practicality, style, and next-gen technology, making it a powerful contender within the competitive SUV segment.

Rugged Exterior Design Meets Pixel-Inspired Details

The very first thing you’ll notice is the SUV’s revamped, rugged stance. Riding on 21-inch wheels with intricate spoke designs (a automobile wash manager’s nightmare, perhaps), the Palisade’s bolder proportions immediately grab attention. At each the front and rear, segmented lighting elements evoke Hyundai’s pixel-themed design, harking back to its Ioniq EV lineup. The front is particularly eye-catching, with massive rectangular daytime running lights (DRLs) flanking a outstanding grille. Tucked between these DRLs are 4 smaller rectangles, likely housing the fundamental headlights, with a slim LED strip neatly spanning the upper grille.

Hyundai has also fine-tuned the Palisade’s dimensions. The front overhang is barely shorter, while the wheelbase grows, providing much more room between the axles in comparison with the outgoing model’s 114.2 inches. The generous greenhouse design and dual sunroof options remain intact, catering to passengers’ comfort and sense of openness, particularly on higher-end trims.

The rear of the SUV boasts a cleaner, more streamlined look. The exhaust suggestions have been discreetly hidden beneath the bumper, and the rear wiper is cleverly tucked under the roof spoiler. Unlike lots of Hyundai’s recent models, the taillights don’t extend onto the tailgate, offering a more restrained aesthetic. While the HTRAC badge (signifying all-wheel drive) is missing from initial images, it’s protected to assume the feature will likely be offered on this second-generation model.

A Modernized Interior Full of Practical Features and as much as 9 Passengers

Stepping inside reveals a thoroughly modernized cabin. The dashboard features dual 12.3-inch screens seamlessly integrated into the design, paired with a satisfying array of physical buttons—a nod to drivers preferring tactile controls. Dedicated climate controls, media shortcuts, and rotary knobs ensure usability stays a priority. A big change is the relocation of the gear selector to the steering column, which frees up space on the middle console.

Hyundai has cleverly utilized that freed-up space, making the oversized center console a multifunctional marvel. Alongside USB-C charging ports, cupholders, and a wireless charging pad, the console can convert right into a third seat. This smart addition allows the Palisade to hold as much as nine passengers—a feature that may very well be particularly appealing in markets like South Korea, where nine-seaters gain access to bus lanes.

One other intriguing interior detail is the revamped steering wheel. Gone is Hyundai’s iconic “H” badge; as a substitute, 4 dots symbolizing the letter “H” in Morse code take over, further emphasizing the brand’s modern design ethos. Circular door handles add a retro-inspired flair, while ambient lighting brings a comfortable, upscale feel to the cabin.

A Hybrid Future on the Horizon

Although Hyundai hasn’t released full specifications yet, rumors strongly suggest that a hybrid powertrain is finally on the way in which for the Palisade. This aligns with the industry-wide push toward electrification and Hyundai’s own commitment to greener technologies.

For now, we’re left with a tantalizing glimpse of what’s to come back, but Hyundai guarantees more details in the approaching weeks. With its daring styling, spacious nine-seat configuration, and potential hybrid option, the 2026 Hyundai Palisade looks ready to boost the bar for full-size SUVs.
