In a shocking achievement, Koenigsegg announced that the Jesko Absolut has shattered its own 0-250-0 mph record. On Monday, the Swedish supercar maker revealed that the Jesko managed to go from zero to 400 km/h and back to zero in an astonishing 27.83 seconds. This performance eclipses the previous record set by the Koenigsegg Regera in 2023 by nearly a full second.
The Jesko Absolut also broke the 0-250-0 mph record, completing the feat in only 28.27 seconds—1.33 seconds faster than the Regera. Moreover, it set records for the quickest production automotive to succeed in 400 km/h and 250 mph, clocking times of 18.82 seconds and 19.2 seconds, respectively. These remarkable records were achieved by factory test driver Markus Lundh at an airfield in Örebro, Sweden on Thursday, June twenty seventh.
The Jesko Absolut is an engineering marvel. Its 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine produces a staggering 1600 horsepower when running on E85 gasoline. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through the progressive Light Speed Transmission (LST), a nine-speed gearbox featuring seven clutches for lightning-fast shifts.
For these record-breaking attempts, the Jesko was running on E85 fuel and remained largely unmodified, save for a roll cage and a driver’s seat borrowed from the Koenigsegg One:1, preferred by the driving force. The Absolut version of the Jesko is designed for max straight-line speed, foregoing the big wing and supreme downforce for optimized drag reduction to boost acceleration.
Christian von Koenigsegg, the founding father of the corporate, believes that the Jesko Absolut has the potential to succeed in an incredible top speed of 330 mph, given the proper conditions. The automotive world eagerly awaits the following milestone from this groundbreaking supercar.
