‘Hyundai N74’ trademark application might mean a production N Vision 74

Hyundai used “N-Day” in 2022 to indicate two N-flavored concepts. The primary was the RN22e, an Ioniq 6 sedan changed into a rolling widebody testbed for features like performance-focused regenerative braking and N Sound+ synthetic audio effects. Nobody remembers it, since the second concept was the N Vision 74, a hydrogen-powered fancy that turned the unique 1974 Pony Coupe Concept right into a concentrated retro-modern sports automobile with classic, chiseled lines. The most important query asked about it was, “Hydrogen?” The second-biggest query asked about it continues to be, “What is going to it take to construct it?” Even Hyundai execs have publicly stated they need this automobile, it’s possible they’ve finally found a technique to do it. The 7thMustang forum reports Hyundai applied to trademark the term “Hyundai N74” in Europe on September 20.

Does that mean there is a hot silver flash of N coming soon? Not necessarily. However the step represents more serious intent than anything we have seen because the reveal. On the Canadian International Auto Show in February of this yr, Till Wartenberg, Hyundai’s VP of N Brand management and Motorsport, told The Autopian, “My personal wish is to provide this vehicle. It’s at first probably an investment, but when we could see this vehicle really on the market and other people buying it, I can be very completely happy.” In May, Hyundai Group Chief Creative Officer Luc Donckerwolke told TopGear about the potential for constructing the automobile, “Absolutely… We’re serious about this. This might come into production. We have now the platform — it’s a motorsport platform.” Otherwise, nothing.

The patent category cited in the applying covers “automobiles; sports cars; [and] electric vehicles,” amongst others. If something does hit the market, we suspect it would forgo hydrogen as an energy source but keep on with batteries. Now that there is a paper trail, we can’t be surprised to see a more production-ready concept shown within the months ahead. Our position on the matter hasn’t modified since May: “Pony up, Hyundai. Construct the N Vision 74.” We might only wish to add: just price it right.
