Hendy Group has confirmed it’s moving to a brand new regional operating model that can see changes inside its senior management team across multiple departments.
The 60-site dealer group confirmed to AM that one immediate consequence of the restructure is that a variety of latest roles are being advertised internally and externally.
Nevertheless, it said the group’s total variety of senior managers is predicted to stay unchanged, once the transition to a regional model has been accomplished.
Hendy can even be appointing a brand new aftersales director, fleet & leasing director, head of used vehicle performance and head of franchise performance.
While many administrative functions will remain centralised, there’ll now even be recent ‘Central’, ‘West’ and ‘East’ divisions, each served by a minimum of one head of operations and a team of general managers overseeing individual sites.
Duncan McPhee (pictured), who joined Hendy Group as its recent chief operating officer in August, said: “Changing to a regional model means we will probably be higher capable of evaluate and steer performance of a site or area across the group.
“This move can even foster recent opportunities for growth, enhance efficiencies, streamline communication and improve collaboration across sites to maximise performance.
“We’re creating recent reporting lines, and changes in how systems and processes are arrange.”
Hendy Group has been running for 165 years and has grown from a small business in Whitchurch, Hampshire, into a serious dealer group with over 1,600 colleagues and greater than 20 brands across 60 locations.
Paul Hendy, the group’s chief executive, added: “This incredible journey of a family business has been marked by significant milestones, including large-scale acquisitions which have expanded our reach and capabilities.
“According to our vision and values, we’re committed to demonstrating adaptability, curiosity and a willingness to learn in pursuit of excellence; this involves not only reacting to changes but proactively shaping the long run.
“Now’s the time to set the stage for our continued success for the following 165 years.”
McPhee’s appointment was made late this summer as a way to “support the chief board because it prepares for its next phase of growth”.
His role as COO at Hendy is to oversee day by day operations and drive performance across key areas, including automobile and industrial vehicle sales, aftersales, logistics, marketing, finance and insurance, and customer experience.
