Having recently toured ECD Auto Design’s impressive facility, where I witnessed firsthand the extraordinary craftsmanship that goes into each bespoke Land Rover and Jaguar, I couldn’t be more thrilled to share the most recent news from this revolutionary company. ECD has announced an exciting expansion of their product line to incorporate custom-built Toyota FJ vehicles. Known for his or her meticulous attention to detail and keenness for automotive excellence, ECD is about to breathe recent life into the long-lasting Toyota FJ, transforming it into a contemporary masterpiece while preserving its rugged heritage.
The Toyota FJ, with its distinctive boxy shape and robust four-wheel-drive system, has long been celebrated as an off-road legend. ECD’s recent enterprise guarantees to take this classic vehicle to unprecedented levels of luxury and performance. From the outside design to the intricate details of the inside, every aspect of the FJ can be customizable, ensuring each vehicle is a novel reflection of its owner’s vision. The identical high standards and revolutionary enhancements which have made ECD’s Defenders and Range Rovers renowned worldwide will now elevate the FJ to recent heights.
Set to start production in late Q3 2024, with deliveries expected by Q1 2025, ECD’s Toyota FJ retromods will join the ranks of their other luxury SUVs, benefiting from the corporate’s decade of experience in creating best-in-class, one-of-one vehicles. CEO Scott Wallace emphasized the seamless integration of the FJ into their lineup, highlighting the right synergy achieved by leveraging their extensive experience in crafting custom vehicles.
ECD’s commitment to excellence is clear in the excellent specifications of the FJ retromod, which covers each the FJ 40 and 4-door ‘Land Cruiser’ FJ 60. Each vehicle will feature a Chevrolet 6.2L V8 engine, a 6-speed automatic transmission, and an upgraded high-performance aluminum cooling system. The outside will boast BF Goodrich All Terrain tires, a slimline front bumper with daytime running lights, and a selection of any OEM color in a gloss finish. Inside, the FJ will offer hand-stitched leather trim seats, a painted dashboard, and a premium sound system, ensuring each comfort and magnificence.
Visiting ECD’s headquarters, often known as the “Rover Dome,” left a long-lasting impression on me. The 100,000-square-foot facility in Kissimmee, Florida, is a testament to ECD’s dedication to quality and innovation. Home to 90 talented craftsmen and technicians, the Rover Dome is where dreams turn out to be reality, with each vehicle meticulously hand-built over 2,200 hours. This recent chapter with the Toyota FJ retromod is a natural progression for ECD, allowing them to proceed their mission of making unparalleled, one-of-a-kind vehicles that honor automotive legends while pushing the boundaries of luxury and performance.
For those as keen about classic vehicles as I’m, the anticipation of seeing the primary ECD Toyota FJ retromods on the road is palpable. These bespoke masterpieces should not just vehicles; they’re a celebration of automotive history, reimagined for the trendy era. Whether you’re a long-time fan of the Toyota FJ or recent to its storied legacy, ECD’s retromods promise to deliver an unmatched driving experience that mixes the very best of each worlds.
