I’ve mentioned what it’s like coming to automotive realizations before. Certainly one of the most important realizations is coming to terms with the incontrovertible fact that the Pontiac Aztek isn’t as bad because it was made out to be once they were recent. In reality, if it were put in the marketplace today the Aztek would probably be pretty successful due to its crossover practicality, which has led some to hunt down old Azteks and buy or flip them. It also means there’s some examples on the market with silly prices, as a recent Facebook Marketplace find shows.

Is the Pontiac Aztek Really So Bad?

First spotted in a tweet (h/t to @Lriga_), there’s a somewhat interesting 2002 Aztek on the market. This all-wheel-drive Aztek in Stillwater, Minnesota has been become more of an off-roader, with a previous owner adding a lift kit and massive all-terrain tires. Brilliant red paint and a red and gray interior helps it stand out, and its 89,000 miles isn’t bad for a automobile that’s greater than 20 years old.

It also looks to be pretty decent condition. The vendor mentions it has a clean Carfax history, runs great and is street legal — unsure why it wouldn’t be — and it has recent headlights and brakes. Unfortunately this uniqueness comes with an “I do know what I even have” price tag. For those who were taken with owning this “unique” Aztek, you’ll must part with $13,000. That’s probably $8,000 an excessive amount of, given what other Azteks have gone for.

While the Aztek was listed on Facebook Marketplace by a personal seller, the photos of it look to be a list for a dealer in North East, Pennsylvania called NFI Empire. A fast inventory search shows they’ve five Pontiacs in stock and never a single one is that this Aztek, so either someone actually paid that quantity for this thing and the Facebook ad hasn’t been taken down yet, or the vendor on Facebook Marketplace is the one that bought it from the dealer and he’s attempting to flip it. Either way, this thing isn’t unique or cool enough to cost greater than $10,000.
