Cox Automotive Europe has secured its largest European contract so far, an extended term deal to construct a brand new digital remarketing platform for Stellantis.
The agreement expands the firms’ 12 12 months relationship and can see Cox Automotive develop an intelligent software solution to administer buying and selling across the Stellantis used automotive portfolio in a consolidated digital marketplace.
The system will handle vehicles across nine markets including France, Germany and Spain.
Cox Automotive said the platform will use data from its European operations and expertise from its US parent to optimise remarketing performance and strategy.
James Weston, senior vice chairman of Stellantis pre owned vehicles, said: “Taking this significant step forward together, by making a innovative remarketing solution to grow our buyer base, buyer alternative, and ultimately our combined performance.
“Spoticar Trade might be greater than an progressive platform.
“Together, we’ll transform the used automotive B2B market in Europe by offering a dynamic and sophistication leading borderless marketplace, with tailor made services, optimised stock and price management.”
A fundamental change for stock remarketing in Europe
Martin Forbes, president of Cox Automotive International, said: “This deal is actually transformational.
“Not only to our business as our largest ever European contract, but to the industry.
“Once complete, this platform has the potential to fundamentally change the way in which European manufacturers, fleets and retailers remarket their stock.
“With our data and expertise, we’ll deliver the correct buyer in the correct place with the perfect price for every vehicle.
“Although our current focus is to deliver outstanding results for Stellantis there isn’t a doubt that our pan European digital remarketing offering might be of interest to other manufacturers, fleets and retailers.”
Cox Automotive previously supplied the Spoticar Trade software utilized by Stellantis to administer stock at brand and country level.
The brand new platform will allow Stellantis to remarket vehicles from all 14 of its brands, including Peugeot, Citroen, Jeep, Fiat and Opel, across multiple European markets.
Cox Automotive will even work with logistics partners to maneuver vehicles across borders and manage taxation and export requirements on behalf of Stellantis.
