Chinese giant BYD has launched a fleet pricing program that can bring discounts across its range, helping it progress towards its ambitious sales goals in Australia.

Operated along side Australian distributor EVDirect, BYD is offering fleet discounts across its entire range of electrical vehicles (EVs) and plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) including the incoming Shark 6 ute.

The fleet pricing comes after BYD outlined its sales targets for the rest of 2024 – 25,000 units in Australia – and the years to come back, which incorporates ambitions to double its figures annually.

That will mean 50,000 Australian units in 2025 after which 100,000 units in 2026. BYD also goals for the Shark 6 to match the sales trajectory of the Sealion 6, which has been the top-selling PHEV in Australia over the past two months.

100s of latest automotive deals can be found through CarExpert straight away. Get the experts in your side and rating an awesome deal. Browse now.

As a part of the deal, BYD is offering a six per cent discount for all local, state and federal government departments and agencies, in addition to not-for-profit organisations.

There’s also a six per cent discount for prolonged fleet clients, which comprises all firms with a fleet size of greater than 100 vehicles.

A 4 per cent discount is out there for normal fleet clients, applicable to all firms with a fleet size of 20 to 99 vehicles.

Fleet sales account for a big chunk of the brand new automotive market in Australia.

In 2023, while 630,297 vehicles were delivered to non-public buyers, a complete of 429,634 vehicles went to businesses while one other 71,274 were delivered to automotive rental agencies and 33,803 to government fleets.
