Keep in mind that sleek-looking BMW Z4 Coupe Concept, the return of the Clown Shoe, that was showcased from the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in Italy. Well, it seems that BMW has decided against bringing the Z4 Coupe concept into production, despite initial speculation suggesting otherwise. Introduced on the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este last 12 months, the concept stirred excitement amongst enthusiasts, sparking rumors of a limited production run. Nevertheless, recent reports indicate that BMW ultimately abandoned the thought.
In accordance with BMWBlog, the corporate’s executives have officially scrapped plans for the Z4 Coupe. Despite exploring the likelihood and even developing a business case, which proposed manufacturing 50 units priced at $250,000 each, BMW opted to not proceed. This decision marks the tip of hopes to revive the long-lasting “Clown Shoe” and translate the Concept Touring Coupe right into a tangible product.
The Z4 Coupe concept turned heads with its unique design. Replacing the Z4’s retractable roof with a hardtop featuring the distinctive Hofmeister kink, the concept boasted wider fenders and enhanced practicality. BMW also made notable alterations to the kidney grille, incorporating double vertical bars. Complementing its aesthetics were staggered 20- and 21-inch, 20-spoke wheels with silver-bronze accents and blue-tinted glass, adding to its allure. That’s all too bad – I suppose we are going to just be completely happy with the present BMW Z4 and it offering a manual transmission, at the least.
