Automotive charity Ben has launched a brand new financial wellbeing campaign as money worries proceed to put a growing strain on industry staff and their families.
The campaign was launched today on “Blue Monday”, a day often related to low mood and increased stress.
It goals to focus on the size of economic pressure facing automotive staff and encourage those affected to hunt support.
Ben said cost of living pressures have turn out to be an on a regular basis reality across the sector.
The charity continues to support 1000’s of individuals annually who’re struggling to make ends meet, with a growing number searching for urgent help with food, rent, utility bills and housing costs.
The charity reports that financial stress isn’t an isolated issue.
Many individuals contacting Ben are facing complex and overlapping challenges, with money worries affecting physical and mental health, family relationships and overall wellbeing.
Based on Ben’s latest survey, one in six people working within the automotive industry are skipping meals to lower your expenses, while one in five is experiencing debt problems.
The charity said these pressures are contributing to ongoing mental health challenges across the workforce.
This mirrors wider national trends.
The Financial Wellbeing Index, which surveyed greater than 5,000 staff, found that 77% say money worries affect them at work, with financial stress closely linked to anxiety, low mood and depression.
