As we inch closer to the launch of Skoda’s first-ever plug-in hybrid (PHEV) in Australia, the Czech manufacturer has now locked in pricing for the Kodiaq large SUV that can debut the technology locally.
Set to reach in the primary quarter of 2026, the Kodiaq Select PHEV might be the primary Skoda PHEV sold in Australia, priced at $63,490 before on-road costs. Typically the bottom variant within the petrol Kodiaq lineup, the Select might be the one PHEV trim available at launch.
As was foretold by Skoda in October 2025, the Select PHEV slots in between the petrol Sportline and RS models within the Kodiaq range, even though it’s cheaper than CarExpert predicted on the time by some $6000.

Powering the Kodiaq Select PHEV is a 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine mated with an 85kW/330Nm electric motor, for total peak outputs of 150kW of power and 350Nm of torque. This provides a claimed 0-100km/h time of 8.4 seconds.
The Kodiaq Select PHEV uses a 25.7kWh lithium-ion battery able to charging at as much as 11kW (AC) and 50kW (DC), with a combined fuel economy claim of 1.85L/100km. As with most other PHEVs, this figure is to be taken with a grain of salt.
Most impressive is the SUV’s electric-only range, which Skoda claims is 112km on the WLTP cycle. For context, Mitsubishi claims an electrical driving range of 86km for the Outlander PHEV, but that’s on the more lenient NEDC protocol.
The Kodiaq PHEV will offer multiple drive modes, alongside a alternative of low, high, and automatic regenerative braking levels. That is along with two power delivery modes – hybrid or electric – and two on-the-move charging modes: automatic, for engine-powered charging; and manual, for plug-in charging only.
The Select PHEV will come only with five seats and a front-wheel drive configuration, unlike its seven-seat, all-wheel drive petrol counterparts. Skoda says that is as a consequence of constraints on battery packaging.
Most traditional equipment is shared with the petrol Kodiaq Select. This includes 19-inch alloy wheels, heated and power-folding side mirrors, and keyless entry, while the inside features heated, power-adjustable front seats, tri-zone climate control, and twin wireless charging pads.
There’s also a 13.0-inch infotainment display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, alongside a full suite of safety gear including adaptive cruise control, lane-centring, and traffic sign recognition.
Moreover, each Kodiaq Select models will now be available with Skoda’s optional Signature Package, which adds niceties akin to eight-way power-adjustable massaging seats, intelligent park assist, a head-up display, and a surround-view camera, amongst others. This has now been priced at $6500.
With the introduction of the Kodiaq PHEV, the Czech brand has rounded out its portfolio of huge SUVs. It now offers standard petrol models with the regular Kodiaq, the performance petrol Kodiaq RS, the Kodiaq PHEV, and the fully electric Enyaq.
The Select PHEV is the fourth recent variant within the second-generation Kodiaq range, joining the petrol Select, Sportline, and RS.
An extra mild-hybrid powertrain may even be added to the Kodiaq Select within the second quarter of 2026, placed on the very bottom of the range as a fleet-oriented vehicle. A gentle-hybrid Octavia is slated for launch at the same time.
As for the Superb PHEV, the wagon body style is predicted to launch first in early 2026, followed by the liftback later within the yr.
