2026 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy Black Ink: Blacked-out SUV priced for Australia

Hyundai Australia has announced the Palisade Calligraphy Black Ink will return to the local lineup with hybrid power, arriving in dealers this month priced from $92,400 before on-road costs.

The Calligraphy Black Ink returns with the brand new, second-generation Palisade, which launched in Australia in late 2025 with an extended wheelbase, greater cargo capability and a neighborhood chassis tune for Hyundai’s flagship SUV.

Its $92,400 before on-road costs price is considerably higher than the previous-generation model, which was offered with petrol and diesel power for $78,400 and $81,719 before on-road costs, respectively.

The brand new Calligraphy Black Ink will sit above the entry-level Palisade Elite, priced from $76,500 before on-road costs, and the Calligraphy, priced from $89,828 before on-road costs.

The Black Ink follows the previous version by offering a number of dark-themed cosmetic changes for its $2572 premium over the regular Palisade Calligraphy.

This includes gloss black 21-inch alloy wheels, a ‘hot-stamped’ black front grille with a satin-black surround, black window surrounds, a satin-black lower bumper garnish, satin-black belt-line trim and black roof rails.

Exterior color selection is restricted to Abyss Black and Creamy White – each avoiding the $650 metallic paint charge – while the inside includes black metallic trim elements, Nappa leather upholstery, and an eight-seat configuration.

As with other Palisades, a seven-seat configuration with second-row captain’s chairs is obtainable for a further $1000, pushing the value to $93,400 before on-road costs.

The Palisade Calligraphy Black Ink incorporates a dual-motor 245kW/460Nm 2.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol-electric hybrid system with a six-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.

Claimed fuel consumption on the combined cycle is 6.8L/100km, in comparison with the previous diesel’s 7.3L/100km and the V6 petrol’s 10.7L/100km.

The cabin of the 5065mm-long Palisade features a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, with standard equipment including satellite navigation, power-adjustable front seats, a 14-speaker sound system and a Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) outlet.

The arrival of the brand new Palisade in Australia has contributed to a 38.1 per cent increase in sales in the primary half of 2026, the largest increase across the Hyundai model range.
