The bottom price of the Genesis GV80 has dropped for 2026 with the return of a four-cylinder engine.
Dropped for 2024, the turbocharged 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine has now returned. Sadly, the three.0-litre turbo-diesel inline six, discontinued in 2024, hasn’t returned because it’s not being produced.
The GV80 lineup now opens at $120,000 before on-road costs, a discount of $10,000. The dual-turbo 3.5-litre V6-powered variant that did open the range stays, but is $2000 dearer for 2026.
Elsewhere in the massive luxury SUV lineup, prices are up by between $1500 and $1700.

The previously optional Rear Seat Entertainment Package, which brought dual 14.7-inch rear touchscreens with a handheld remote control, USB-C port and HDMI port, has been discontinued.
You may still, nevertheless, option the GV80 with a six-seat layout featuring second row captain’s chairs, a set centre console, and a wireless phone charger.

Rounding out the MY26 updates is the Genesis-first implementation of Digital Key 2.0, which augments the prevailing Genesis Connected Services suite in Australia.
Using near-field communication (NFC) and ultra-wideband (UWB) technology, Digital Key allows owners to lock and unlock the doors or start the engine remotely using their compatible smartphone or smartwatch.
Digital Key 2.0 may be stored on one device and shared with as much as 15 other devices. It also doesn’t require a mobile network signal to work and can proceed to operate if the smartphone battery is flat.
The returning 2.5T drivetrain had been dropped for 2024 despite accounting for around 25 per cent of local GV80 sales, with Genesis Australia CEO saying the brand new GV80 Coupe would “compensate” by accounting for 30 per cent of overall sales for the massive luxury SUV.

To the tip of October, Genesis has delivered 165 GV80 SUVs and 72 GV80 Coupes. Which means the coupe-like body style is sitting bang on 30 per cent of total GV80 sales.

These updates follow a more substantial update last 12 months, which brought freshened styling, the brand new Coupe derivative, and a revised cabin headlined by a 27-inch OLED display incorporating the digital instrument cluster and infotainment touchscreen.
The GV80 also gained features like an 18-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, fingerprint recognition and a digital rear-view mirror.
